Professional Digital Imaging For Wedding

One of the moments that most people would really love to preserve is the events on their wedding day; the vast majority of couples arrange for a professional digital wedding photographer to be there for the most important part of the day. There is no reason why a DVD can’t be made of the occasion to complement to photos!

This isn’t easy; creating that perfect shot if you are taking photographs without help as there is only so much you can do on your own without help. So, if you need some help for a wedding you are to attend and you are going to use a digital camera, then you may find some useful information in this article.

Many amateur photographers make the mistake of taking pictures with a boring background which is not something you want in a wedding photo. Often the couple is in the thick of a crowd and at this point it may be easier to try and capture just their head and shoulders.

If some of the guests are wearing glasses, they can be asked to stand with their heads a little down or sideways to avoid the glare effect from spectacles that normally appears when a flash is used. If there is someone in the group that you particularly want to take a photograph of but they are in a crowd then try using the zoom, it will give a good close-up that you wouldn’t achieve any other way.

Where possible, try to capture shots that are natural and candid as these always look so natural when viewed later; one way to do this is to use the cameras optical zoom. As you can’t keep asking people to pose for you, always have the camera to hand because digital wedding photography is just as much about having natural, un-posed for shots.

Probably the most important thing to remember with digital cameras is to have plenty of memory in your camera plus fresh batteries and the best way to ensure this is to always carry spares. Professional digital slr cameras start at 6 mega pixels and very few compacts are now below that so your card will need to be a minimum of one gigabyte to be on the safe side.

The reason you need to set the cameras resolution to the maximum is because the colors will be richer and if you want to enlarge the photos, it won’t be a problem. This is achieved by saving the images to your computer where you can print them out at your leisure on special photographic paper.

Digital wedding photography has become firmly established over the last few years and how successful you are will depend on how much you enjoy the challenge.
